About Our School
Letter from Our Head of School
Dear Parents and Students,
As head of Insight Schools of California (ISCA), I’m pleased to tell you about our online public school, which offers students a fresh start through a different learning model that can set them up for success.
Our school is currently designed to work with students in grades 9–12 who are struggling—for various reasons—in their education. A struggling student may be one who has failed certain courses, is bored or turned off by school, misses school days, feels unsafe at school, or perhaps has received suspensions or been left back. Many factors can contribute to these struggles. Among them are learning issues, behavior issues, bullying, or a lack of effective alternatives at their school. Our approach is not to judge students or families, but to help you in ways that work.
We are an online school—but what does that mean? For most students, it means they attend school from the safety of home where they can focus on their studies without distractions, without peer pressure, and with the help of excellent state-credentialed teachers, caring counselors, and a parent or other adult “Learning Coach” who provides support. Daily structure and lessons are provided through a stimulating online school environment where classes meet together and learning progress truly happens.
In today’s world, finishing high school has never been more important. Once a student succeeds in completing high school, they can consider moving on to postsecondary schooling options, from community college to vocational programs, and eventually a four-year college.
We’re proud of our team of professionals and the program we’ve put together for California students. We have impressive ways to individually tailor your student’s learning, as well as provide social and emotional support. I urge you to review in more detail how we help students succeed and get an overview of our outstanding curriculum provided by K12. Also, please check our information session schedule. These events provide the best way to learn more about us and offer an opportunity to ask questions.
Of course, if you’re ready to enroll, please do! If you choose to join us at ISCA, and I hope you do, I look forward to welcoming you to a remarkably supportive school that can help turn struggle into success for your child.
