Inside the Support System Helping ISCA Students Succeed

Guidance & Support

Student support is built into every part of the experience at Insight Schools of California (ISCA). From onboarding through graduation, students and families are connected to a team focused on helping them succeed.

Families are initially guided through Strong Start orientations and onboarding sessions as an introduction to the school, expectations and available resources.

“We’re the first point of contact. We want families to feel supported right from the start,” said Ms. Rachelle MacIver, Student Support Specialist

Layers of Support Around Every Student

ISCA’s model brings together academic advisors, counselors and support staff to ensure students have consistent guidance.

Students connect daily through homeroom, receive regular outreach and are invited to one-on-one Cougar Conferences each trimester to review progress and plan next steps.

“I’m in constant contact with my students and their families,” said Ms. Vanessa MacKenzie, Academic Advisor

Behind the scenes, staff check attendance, monitor progress and reach out by phone or text to keep students engaged and on track.

This consistency is intentional.

“We’ve built a team that is 100% there for students,” said Ms. Marci Knoll, Engagement Lead

Personalized Support That Works

Support at ISCA is tailored to each student. Staff work closely with families to understand their goals and challenges, then build a plan that supports progress.

“There’s no one-size-fits-all,” said Ms. Jennifer Buehler, Academic Advisor

This approach is especially important for students who balance work, health needs or social anxiety, and gives them a structured path forward with the flexibility they need.

A Path Forward

For many students, ISCA provides a way to stay on track and reach graduation.

“This offers a way to get a diploma for students who otherwise might not have succeeded,” said Ms. Jennifer Buehler, Academic Advisor.

That support can be the turning point.

“I’ve had students say they wanted to quit, and then they realize they’re closer than they think and keep going,” said Ms. Vanessa MacKenzie, Academic Advisor.

ISCA helps students move forward with confidence through consistent communication, personalized guidance and a team committed to student success.
